- I wonder if they notice the fellow looking over their shoulders?
All of my work has a "gay" slant to it. Because I am gay. Don't let that scare you... Don't let that be the only reason to explore it either. Remember, we are all connected...
YES, I AM GAY...
Is gay okay? I don't know. I think it is a test. I don't have the answer key though.
My writing deeply explores gay-themed content. My personal narrative is about a gay man, and my project, Supernova, follows a group of gay men who, as it turns out, also struggle with heavy drug abuse and the chaos of active addiction. Is that okay with God? I honestly doubt it. But does it make us any worse than anyone else? I doubt that, too.
I deliberately walk a tightrope here between Christian faith and sexual excess, between spirituality and addiction. These worlds seem diametrically opposed, but that exact tension is central to the problem of recovery. Too often, spiritual shame tells us, "You are going to hell anyway, so why bother to change?" This platform exists to challenge that exact lie.
At 58 years old, my approach to life has shifted. I have come to enjoy my own company, and I no longer rely on external validation to confirm my value. For me, this is a vital milestone in my recovery. I am learning to like myself, one day at a time.
My past choices weren't always well-considered, so I am focusing on personal growth and discernment before dipping my foot back into the world.
Please don't misinterpret my reflections as confrontational.
My journey belongs to me, and yours belongs to you. Sharing my identity and my healing is simply my way of being completely transparent. While I hold strong political beliefs, I leave them aside here because they don't serve the core recovery mission of this space.
Thank you for being here, and thank you for your respect.
